Jan. 1 - Genesis 1 - 3

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you've taken on the challenge of reading through the Bible this year. All you need to do is read 3 chapters per day to accomplish this incredible goal. You're life will be substantially enhanced! Here's my first go at this...blogging. Please feel free to join me, add to my thoughts, and tell me if it blesses you or how I can make it better.

January 1 - Genesis 1-3 - After reading these 3 chapters, here's a few thoughts:

Power Thoughts From Genesis 1-3

- All 3 persons of the Godhead were involved in creation! In Genesis 1:26, God says - "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness...". And, also note that when it says "And God said," that it is JESUS who spoke out the words that created all things! That's why in the New Testament the book of John says in John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word." The apostle Johns describes Jesus as "the Word" who spoke everything into existence. Also, in John 1:3, ithe Bible says, "All things were made by Him (Jesus)." Isn't that cool?

- God created everything is 6 literal days! Only those who lack the understanding of just how infinite, all knowing, and all powerful God actually is, would question this! More on this later.

- God created us to work. Many people think that God cursed man with work, but it's not true! Notice in Genesis 1:15, that "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden to work it and take care of it."

- The Garden Of Eden was located near the inlet of the Persian Gulf. Many scholars, both biblical and archeological, believe that. It's interesting to note that the man began everything from the Middle East and that the Bible teaches that man will one day end it there as well!

- Sin will take you farther than you ever intend to go! When Adam and Eve sinned, they hid from God. When Cain sinned, he killed his brother!

While so much more could be drawn from Genesis 1-3, what are thoughts?
